New GE Washer Agitator Tangles clothes, "catches" straps, strings, and buttons - ge hydrowave washer

This review has been resolved or replied to by this company.
Initially, I loved my new 2012 GE HydroWave quiet agitator washing machine. But, turned out, lots of things get caught on or under the agitator. Buttons get caught. Straps, like on tank tops or underwear, get caught. Strings like the ties on sweatshirts get caught. Clothes get tangled up together, and since it's deep and the clothes are wet, it's hard to remove these things from the machine. When the buttons on a jacket were caught under the agitator, thought it was going to tear the clothing. Would never have gotten that machine if I knew that would happen. I've washed clothes weekly for 40 years in all sorts of machines, and that never happened. What's wrong with this model, and how can this be corrected? Is it possible to get a new agitator model? Has this been machine been recalled? There are sorts of slots at the base of the vanes that things get caught in, and there's room under the base for buttons to slide into. Solutions, please, or I'm going to ask for a replacement model. I can be reached at ShinerFamily@earthlink.net

My GE Hydrowave just sucked a work apron underneath the agitator and the apron won't budge. My machine is less than two years old. I see I am not alone with this problem.

I too am having this problem. I also have the GE HydroWave and while washing a new set of sheets one of the sheets was sucked under the agitator and will not release. I have tried everything I can think of and I am going to have to resort to calling service to come out and fix it. This is very frustrating. I have had this problem with articles of clothing but was able to untangle them. This washer is not that old and it is so irritating to not only have to pay someone to come fix this, I have to pay to replace the items that are destroyed. This is a huge flaw in this machine.
